Lamamra: “Failure to end decolonization in Western Sahara, matter of concern”

African Union High Representative for Silencing the Guns Ramtane Lamamra considered the failure to end decolonization in Western Sahara as a matter of concern.

Lamamra said that armed conflicts have robbed Africa of more than 100 billion dollars since the end of the Cold War in 1991.

According to an article published by the African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Conflict, Lamamra said, “Unfortunately, the continent witnessed the largest number of deaths in the world, and food crises.”

As member of the Stockholm Peace Research Board of Directors, he added, “these conflicts resulted in the complete collapse of the economies, the destruction of the environmental and political landscape.”
